About the Book

This collection of poems was started in the 1990’s. It is built on religious, spiritual and philosophical conviction. Most of the poems are centered around the title of the collection, however there are a few poems which highlight other topics such as love, philosophy, etc. The collection is a release of emotions, from someone who has apparently experienced the good and challenging facets of life. It is inspirational, and designed for those who are, or have faced challenging situations in life or who have family or friends who fall in this category. These may be ill-health, loss of income, bereavement, oppression, or whatever the challenge. The collection is one, of thought provoking situations, which most people will have experienced in one form or another. It gives hope to the hopeless, even in the face of adversity. Though it does not promise immediate solutions to all problems, it cushions the effects of the problems and proffers ways in which the author has dealt with his own challenges, with the hope that if the same approach is adopted, similar results will be attained. The collection has a very spiritual and philosophical undertone. I pray that this work impacts positively on all those who receive share the message, directly or indirectly. Have a wonderful experience and reflection. God bless you and be with you.

About the Author

The Author is the first child of five. He had a strict but privileged upbringing. He studied Mechanical Engineering in University but that was out of convenience rather than by choice. He came to settle in the U.K in 1995. He spent six years working as a Healthcare Assistant, after succumbing to pressure from family and friends who thought that he willfully did not want to work. Due to family and peer pressure and expectation and due to academic and political pressures, the author had a mental/ psychological breakdown and at a later time in his life attempted suicide. Most of this collection of poetry was compiled during the six year period mentioned above. The poems were inspired during the depressing phase of his life. There has however been lots of hope in his Creator, which kept him going through the difficult years. He had and still has lots of hope and faith. Currently, the author works as a Senior Income Officer with one of the Local Authorities in the U.K. The Author is very hopeful that the best out of life is yet to come. His faith and belief being his strength. His pen name is inspired by the quote, ‘Jack of all trades…’ and from his nature of looking and listening more, as opposed to talking. The author has been diagnosed of different mental health ailments and is currently on medication that he might take for the rest of his life and by the grace of the Creator has lived an almost normal life. He is blessed with a loving wife and two beautiful daughters.
