Jon got out of the car, headed into the house and stopped in his tracks when he spied the puppy. “It’s a dog! It’s a dog!” He shouted. “I can’t believe it! Mom, look! It’s a dog!” The puppy ran to Jonathan. He jumped on the boy and licked his face. Jon tried to put his arms around him but the pup wouldn’t stop moving. The little dog chewed on Jon’s pants leg. Then he found Jon’s shoelace and chewed on that. Jon rolled around on the floor playing with the puppy, and squealing with delight.

About the Author
Barbara Ralkin Fleischer is a seventy-six-year-old wife, mother, and grandmother. She is a community activist being involved with her husband in a wide variety of community activities. Barbara went back to college at the age of forty-six after raising her children and graduated with a BS degree from Kent State University. Barbara has been writing since high school where she wrote for the Lehman Journal. Since then she has written many articles and poems that have been published. The Adventures of Scooby, Charlie, and Fluffy is Mrs. Fleischer’s first children’s book and she is looking forward to continuing her writing.
