On Christmas Eve, CANDY, a young turkey girl raised at Heywoodsville farm, is being taken by her humans to the city market. She is unaware that her kind is always served as a center piece for the dinner tables of humans. When the crate in which she is being transported topples off the truck, she finds herself sitting free on the side of the road. Extremely disappointed at having missed the market expedition, she now has no choice but to find her way home and she starts walking through the bush. The emergencies that CANDY encounters are all typical examples of children's life emergency situations. The story is meant not only to entertain children but to hopefully guide them into making proper life choices.

"CANDY; The Turkey Who Missed Christmas" is the story of a pet turkey who was proud at being chosen to accompany her humans to the market.
Fortunately, because of an emergency during the trip, she does return home but the journey back to her farm is not an easy one.
About the Author
grandma geny heywood, born in a french village in 1930 has a lifetime of experience with children. A self made youth leader at an early age, she expatriated herself to England after WW2. She immigrated to North America penniless and without diplomas but never stopped studying, writing and keeping up with the world.
A child-care provider and nanny for many years, she is also a mother, a grand-mother and the author of children's books published in several languages and sold all over the world. Her literature is aimed at raising the IQ of young readers, especially of those who might experience a few difficulties in learning.
