Based on a true story............The local news contacted Patrick about doing a segment on their show called Down Home Religion; he agreed to do the show. While getting set up and being briefed on the questions that he would be asked on the air he got a surprise he never bargained for. Maria and Patrick Jr. showed up to the taping. He told his wife about everything that was going on in his life except Toni, but he never thought that Maria would show up unannounced in America. Patrick panicked immediately, because Toni was on her way to watch him tape the show. Maria immediately put her arms around her husband and kissed him full on the lips. Patrick’s mind was racing, he pulled out his cell phone to call Toni and try to stop her from coming to the taping but the producer was ready to shoot. Maria sat with him during the taping and the director had Patrick to put his arm around her for a more loving effect. The interviewer asked Maria was there any change she saw in her husband, Maria answered and said, “One day when I woke up it was like he was a completely new person.” The interview was close to the end when Toni walked in, she looked at the older lady who her man had his arm around and yelled “what is this?” Toni regained her composure and decided not to embarrass herself on camera and waited outside the building in her car. When the taping was over and the camera crew walked outside and loaded up their equipment Toni charged back into the building to get in Patrick’s face. “What is going on Patrick who is this kissing you on TV.” Patrick looked at her as if he had no remorse and said, “Toni this is my wife Maria.” “Your wife? What the hell do I look like? I have been with you the last 7 months of my life and you have been chasing me even longer than that, you haven’t said anything about having a wife, and better yet I am wearing your engagement ring you bastard.” Maria interrupted the yelling, excuse me you have been with my husband?” The commotion could be heard outside in the parking lot. Toni said, “Not only have I been with your husband, I am engaged to marry marry him next summer.” Toni slapped Patrick and his eyes grew beady and fiery with anger. He reached out and grabbed her arm; put it behind her back and tried to twist it until she took out her stun gun and shocked him in the genitals. He fell to his knees in excruciating pain. Toni spit on him and ran out of the door, she had embarassed herself in public and was humiliated.

This book is addresses the obvious elephants in the room. Antoinette Wiggins is a collegiate athlete that is engaged to Patrick Willis who is also a former professional basketball player. Patrick leaves the court to preach the gospel. Toni has been supportive and stood by him throughout his gospel journey, but there is one thing that Patrick forgot to tell Toni............He is already married. This book is full of drama many twist and turns and the characters are easy to relate to because it is based on a true story.
About the Author
Saadiq La'Rue was born and raised in Louisiana. She found a love for writing at an early age and an interest in sports during her junior high school years. Many of stories include sports drama from a womans perspective. She has made her debut into the wonderful world with her first published novel "The Guilty Pleasures of Reverend Such and Such which is based on a true story about her life and some of her friends. When asked what she loves most about writing she said, "It gives you the opportunity to be free, free to write what you want, express your emotionsand it doesnt have to be to anyones liking except your own. Writing is my therapy."
