Portal to the Unknown

I left her sleeping this morning while I started working. I needed to check on a structure for leaks. I don’t mind hard work or working in the rain,I've been doing it my entire life it seems. No one could have foreseen the strange events about to happen to me that rainy day in October. I was checking on a leak when I heard a strange wind coming from the meadow. Out in the field was, what could only be described as a vortex.There was light coming out of it and strange sounds. It looked like something you might see on sy-fi. I walked towards it . I heard voices and they were getting louder. I had no clue what to expect. I was attacked by a huge komodo dragon / mastiff cross. It was as tall as a great dane, well muscled with a long forked tongue. It walked on four long legs and had dark green, down like fur that sparkeled. Its breath smelled like rotten meat and it had big round black eyes.
