Shari Pettiford author of The Altar wrote: On March 30, 2010, at 3 am. She awoke for Morning Prayer and devotion to God. After praying she thanked God for forgiving her of sins and not requiring a lamb, bull, or other sacrifice. She wondered "how many animals would be required for a sacrifice on my behalf." Then she looked in the book of Leviticus regarding the offerings. Amazed at the procedure done by the priest in preparing for each request. From this came the play, The Altar. It's the altar that has been there for her, whether beside her bed or at church. She loves the altar because “it's a place where you can go to God regarding any issue and have communion with Him.” God knew during her lifetime she would need a sacrifice in simple format. So He sent His son Jesus to die for her sins. 'The Altar' live play is a very powerful live illustration of the Church alter and how souls can be delivered and set free. A true living testimony, it brings clarity! The Altar is a book and Play about her life and how she faced personal fears. How a touch lead her down a path of sin and shame. God knew during her lifetime she would need a sacrifice, with a simple format. Today instead of bulls, doves and blood you can come to Jesus as you are. Read this book and gain courage to confront your past. Then plant a seed so others can heal (perform the play).
About the Author
Shari Lynn Pettiford grew up in a single parent home with her mother, Corinne Alfreda Leach, and siblings. As a single parent, she raised her daughters Kichjako Denise, and Kanika Aisha. She is the proud grandmother of Jaiden Mikael and Gavyn Ki. As an active member at church where she sings, donates Bibles and gifts, she attends prayer and fulfills her passion standing at The Altar. During Christmas with the assistances of several sponsors Inpii Shari Ministries provides for selected families. Each family is blessed with gifts and money to help them enjoy the real meaning of Christmas Christ. Month after month the giving continues through prayer, a listening ear, prophecy, smiles, hugs, money, bibles, pens, cards, prayer shawls, praying oils, and other special gifts. As a humble servant she sets aside her own needs when it comes to helping others. Her beliefs are "Spending time with Jesus is the priority." Don't concern yourself regarding the title for what has to be done, "just do the work of the Lord." She obtained this belief from one of her favorite quotes by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr "I just want to do God's will."
