After lunch Hester sent them to the river to wash up and then to the well by the Manor House to fetch more water. While at the river's edge washing the remnants of their lunch off the plates and goblets they noticed a boy of about ten using the river as a toilet. "Is he doing what I think he's doing?” asked Frankie. Lilly looked in the direction that Frankie was looking. "Oh my God, that is sooo gross! .... Do you mean that we are washing dishes in water that has been… peed in?” "You think that's bad… I've just washed my face in it!” shrieked Frankie "Don't worry… this is not real…. and we are not really doing this. We banged our heads right and knocked ourselves out right, so in a while we will wake up and it will all be over” "Ok if you're sure about that... but you don't sound very convinced.” "I am… I'm positive it's a dream; I mean, otherwise, it's just too unreal for words!” "That's true.” said Frankie. “Let's go and get the water, so we can hurry the `waking up part' up a bit.” They picked up the washed dishes and water bucket and headed for the well.

About the Book
Lilly and Frankie are two 15 year old very 21st century girls! They find themselves, through a freak storm, thrown back to the 12 century and experience it in the raw. They meet a would be knight, a midwife come healer and a wicked drunken Squire who want's Lilly as his wife after she challenges his behavior towards her. The story has many twists and turns that take the girls from 1145 to 2209 and 1942 to right wrongs and keep time in order. In doing so they encounter horrors of the past and a future they never thought possible. The story contains historical fact, a good dose of humor, a little bit of magic and huge helping of imagination!
About the Author
Born in 1960 during a time when children could be children full of imagination and in that imagination wild adventure was a possibility. Having spent ten years working with homeless people, many of them young people, and being a mother and grandmother, seeing first hand, how much young people relied on technology to live, and socialise, she decided it was time to put the imaginative adventure back, using 21st century technology of course!
