About the Book
Bantam Elf tried to do every job at the North Pole shoe factory, but everything he tried ended in disaster. The other elves called him “the bottom shelf elf” because the only job he could do was stack shoeboxes on the bottom shelf of the ware house. But Bantam knew he was meant to do something greater, and one day he set out to find it. What he ended up finding was a horse, a couple of wise men, a very important baby, and the greatest gift you could ever give. Bantam may have once been called the bottom shelf elf, but on one special day in December, he became the greatest elf in history…
About the Author
Joe Mokol is an accidental author. He first came up with The Bottom Shelf Elf in 1998, when his son asked, “If Christmas is for Jesus’ birthday, where did Santa come from?” After that, telling the story became a Christmas tradition. He recently decided to publish due to peer pressure from friends and family, though he’s happy to share his story with anyone who might want to tell it to their own children. Mokol currently lives in Portage, Indiana, where he spends most of his time harassing his kids and fighting crime (he’s a police officer at the Portage Police Department).
