About the Author

Lorna B. Mack grew up in Bethesda, Maryland in the small community of Edgemoor, where she spent most days at the local pool. In 1974 she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Given a 1% chance to survive, she was sent home. With the strenghth and of her family and friends she faced cancer with humor. With her love of water and art she found an inventive way to deal with her fear. Lorna's Whale was born. Lorna is an advocate for children's cancer research, brain tumor research, and wildlife conservation. Partial proceeds of all of Lorna's books are donated to charities.
