LIONS HEAD ROCK Under the star dusted sky, In a place where the eagles cry. Perched on a precarious ledge, And surrounded in a sea of pines. There is a granite abode, Gazing out over the moonlit globe. And the clouds are absent. The air perfumed with the scent of dark loam. Only the moody sound of a lone owl, Disturbs and threatens the drowsy fowl. A bat makes an erratic flight, And nature takes it’s silent toll. Motor-hum throbs a cliff path, Trees and foliage receive a bath. Liquid gold light douses the dusty track, Doors slam, a dog barks, and a child laughs.
