Tango of the Dragonflies
Once they’ve got the tempo,
Once they hold
each other that close,
and begin to dip
and rise across the surface,
all the awkward pieces
of the autumn fall
in place, April
sees the invitation
of October, all the country
feels the rhythm
of the mended year.

About the Book
A selection of poems from the author's previous books, "A Little Sidewalk Cafe at the End of Time," "Until We Dream No More", and "Wild Roses", together with some things written since their publication, over the last five years. The book moves from the innumerable small miracles of the natural world to the incidental, precarious, and nevertheless occasionally wonderful participation of the human in that world.
About the Author
L. G. Mason was born in suburban Detroit and spent his early years there and in school in nearby Ann Arbor. He was educated at Michigan, Kansas, and Stanford. He spent many years on the faculty at the University at Albany, where he divided his time between the biological and literary worlds. He has published three prior books of poems. Currently retired, he lives with his wife Adrienne in upstate New York.
