Do Unto Others
We’d be much better people
With fewer cares and fuss,
If we’d do unto others
As we want them to do unto us;
We’d gossip a lot less
And judge others no more,
Take care of our own business,
Because that is a chore;
Our lights would shine brighter,
We’d have peace and more trust
If we’d do unto others
As we want them to do unto us!
The Gift of Love
LOVE is such a wonderful
And very special gift;
It’s such a great gift to give
And just as great to receive.
Whenever a gift is given,
It should always be given with LOVE,
But LOVE is so very special
That it can be given alone;
If you have it,
You should be thankful
To the Creator in heaven above,
Because you’re truly blessed in a special way
If you have the gift of LOVE!/p>

About the Book
Brenda feels God inspired her to write many times when she was going through difficulties, during joyful times, and when just admiring His beautiful creations! She said “I would just begin to write the words that came to my mind, which to my amazement turned out to be such a blessing!”
Brenda, a recent county retiree enjoys the beauty of nature, volunteering at her niece, Jayla’s school and at nursing homes, traveling, especially cruising and just being free to be a blessing as God blesses her.
Brenda and husband, Minister Waylon Bess reside in Crestview, Florida. They are blessed with a son, Torrey, a daughter, Tamara, seven grandchildren; Tisha, Darius, Tralon, Moses, Asharra, Joe and Chariton.

Brenda Thomas Bess has been writing poetry for several years and has successfully published two small poetry books, Precious Thoughts and …..And The Words Became Poems. If I Had A Poem is a collection of the poems from those books, along with more poems of praise, encouragement, comfort, black history, humor, love and others. Many of her poems honor God for His awesome greatness and goodness, but there’s also a poem for most any occasion or mood. Brenda’s poetry is easy to read and will truly uplift and inspire readers of all ages!
