About the Book

A single mother of two, she writes for her children, as well as for
others. Annie Bostic-Hollis volunteers with public access television
and the Citizen's Review Panel for Juvenile Foster Care of DeKalb county,
Georgia. Presently, she is producing a poetry show for public access
television and is writing a second book of poetry and a screenplay.


About the Author

Annie Bostic-Hollis, a native of Anniston, Alabama, has lived in Atlanta, Georgia, since 1989. A writer for several years, Ms. Bostic-Hollis work runs the gamut of emotions and styles, sourced , in part, by her work as a registered nurse. She was chosen to present her work at the African American Women's Arts Symposium in New Orleans, LA, 1994 & 1995, She has read her work at the West End Cultural Arts Center for Sistography, Atlanta, GA, and Kaylo's Coffee House, Decatur, GA. She was also selected to read for the West Bank Poets of New Orleans at the famous Cafe Brazil in the French Quarter. Ms. Bostic-Hollis has an Honorable Mention in the 1995 anthology Perspectives and has been selected to have her work published in the anthology Spirit of the Age. She received the 1996 President's Award for Literary Excellence for her poem Crystal, which received an Honorable mention in the Summer 1995 Iliad Awards. A single mother of two, she writes for her children and now for her grandchildren. Who's wide eyed view of the world reminds her of the wonders of this life. Annie Bostic-Hollis volunteers with the Citizen's Review Panel for Juvenile Foster Care of DeKalb county Georgia. Presently she is is writing a third book, coproducing a documentary of her years at boarding school and writing a screenplay about her years as a traveling nurse.
