About the Book
The definition of poetry is the art of rhythmical composition, written or spoken, for exciting pleasure by beautiful, imaginative, or elevated thoughts. To me poetry is much more; it’s the expression of life. It relates feelings, it paints pictures, and it says who you are. Most poets, including myself, draw upon life to write poetry. I served 23 years in the U.S. Navy. After retiring from the Navy I spent another 20 years in the work force. I currently teach at a local college. Other than family and friends the most important thing in my life is writing. The poems in this book reflect life. It tells of love both past and present. It relates happiness and sadness. The poems in this book are poems of LIFE.
