About the Author

Margaret Monteith was born in St. Paul, MN. She was the 3rd out of 6 children born into a rural community. Growing up, she loved the outdoors and had an adventurous spirit.

Today, Margaret lives in Buckeye, AZ with her large and very active family. She has dedicated herself to her husband Bob of 11 years, her 2 grown sons, Joseph and Robert, her younger sons Robby, Colby and Chance and her adopted son Josh as well as all of her foster children. She also has 4 young grandchildren who are the loves of her life! At any given time Margaret and Bob have 8 boys living with them. Her amazing ability to reach out to children, love, teach, and lead them in a positive direction has made a remarkable difference in each of their lives. Being a instrumental party of her community is important to Margaret as well. She serves on 2 boards and committees, striving to make a difference in trouble children's lives. She continues to take on more and more to have an impact on every child within the foster care system and has made it her passion to be and stay involved.

Jacquie Shane, a graduate of the University of Maryland, likes to describe herself as an "accidental artist.”  Her curiosity, sense of humor, and flare for the dramatic drives the evolution of her work creating a mosaic of design ranging from "psychedelic primitive" to "industrial organic."  Best known for her enchanting series of “Wild Eyed Cat” paintings, her unique use of texture and color flows throughout her work exemplifying the mastery of her craft.

Her whimsical style attracted the attention of writer Margaret Monteith.  Together they have created their first children’s book, “Finally, I Am Home.”

Born in Yuma, Arizona, Jacquie's "follow the yellow brick road" approach to life has led her around the world and back to Arizona, where she currently resides near Sedona.
