This book was inspired by the summer days spent with her oldest grandson Jared when he was seven. On the first day of summer he arrived at the door with his fishing hat upon his head, binoculars around his neck and writing pad in hand. He informed "Nana", " we are going to do some bird watching and write stories together: and so their stories begin.
Summer days with my Nana and Papa are fun! In the backyard I see butterflies and squirrels enjoying the sun. I might chase a rabbit or two; there is always something fun to do!

About the Book
The book takes a whimsical look at children and the time they spend with their grandparents. In today's busy world grandparents play an active role in child care. In a poetic and colorful look at nature we find that children are eager and curious to learn about our earth and its many wonders. The overall message of the book is that we find simple joy in discovering the blessings in our own backyard.
About the Author
Wynette Mills lives in a small town in the Midwest and is retired. Wynette has always enjoyed the outdoors and writing short stories. She has four children and four grandchildren. Wynette believes that spending time with her grandchildren keeps her young at heart. Grandchildren are such a blessing and we all can learn from their innocence, honesty, and unconditional love. To be involved in their care is a gift and a pleasure.
