About the Book
The story of Prissy Ann is a true story inspired by, none other than, the real Prissy Ann. Prissy Ann was the small, fluffy, white dog of Jean and Fred Alstat (Happy Holly and Farmer Fred). She truly was meant to be a house dog, but never quite adapted to that role. She preferred to be outside with all the excitement. This story of Prissy Ann is just one of the (true) stories of a most unlikely farm dog.
About the Author
Jean Alstat (Happy Holly) lives in rural Illinois with her husband Fred (Farmer Fred). Together, they have two grown children. Alstat was first introduced into farm life when she married her husband Fred. Her experiences living on their small, family farm lead Jean to write about some of the events which happened in the past. Alstat has written several stories over the years, though not all of them are about life on the farm.
When her children were growing up, Alstat always felt it was very important to read to them, which eventually lead to a small library of children’s books at their home. Alstat always hoped to publish the stories she had written over the years and is doing it now, with the Story of Prissy Ann.
Keeping it in the family, daughter Valerie is the illustrator.
