Gene Faurie completed a tour of duty in Vietnam, prospected for gold in Australia, became a motorcycle enthusiast, rode down a wild horse, hiked to the Continental Divide near Pitkin, Colorado, apprehended a purse snatcher, and has had a number of adrenalin producing and near death experiences, each producing a unique sense for excitement in the author's life and writings.
