About the Author

Tali was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1968 and spent her childhood and early adulthood under the African sun. After singing and playing keyboard in a local band, and then working as a secretary for a few years, she went back to school to improve her grades enough to be able to enroll in the Honours degree in Speech Therapy and Audiology at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, SA. She then went on to further specialise with a Masters Degree in Adult and Paediatric Speech and Language Pathology. She has worked for over 10 years as a Speech Therapist and Audiologist, primarily with children, in both South Africa and the United Kingdom, in settings as diverse as South African poverty- and war-stricken township and rural hospitals, London city hospitals and schools, and in private practice. For a change of pace she completed an MBA at the Warwick Business School at Warwick University, Coventry, and went straight back to working with children with special needs. In 2003 Tali stopped work to start her family which currently stands at one husband - Michael - and two marvelously mad sons - Max who loves Meerkats - and Marc - who thinks he's a lion!!! Tali and her family currently reside in not so sunny South Buckinghamshire, England, next to a wood, which may be teeming with lions and crocodiles. Just in case it's not, they make lots of trips to South Africa to see the magnificent wildlife and hot, dry landscape. Tali is a lot paler living in the United Kingdom than she used to be in South Africa, and is trying very hard to assign leonine attributes to the common grey squirrel. Her favourite animal is the warthog!
