Today is Lammas! Lilith and her family celebrate the holiday of Lammas every August first. You see, Lilith and her family are Witches, and Lammas is one of their Sabbats. This is the holiday that celebrates the beginning of the Harvest. It is the end of summer time, and now we will see autumn begin. This Sabbat is about celebrating the God and all male energy. When we celebrated Imbolc last February, we honored the Goddess and all female energy. Now is the time for the God and the Hunter and Warrior in us all. Today at Lammas the God sacrifices himself. He has grown old during the Harvest year, and he is ready to be reborn. In the winter he will be reborn to the Goddess as a young God again, but today he is growing weaker as our grain is cut and baked into bread.

About the Book
"Lilith Celebrates Lammas" is the first of a series of children's picture books that celebrates the Witch's Sabbats and Esbats. In this story, young Lilith, along with her brother and sister, celebrates the Harvest festival of Lammas. She and her family spend the day honoring the God and Goddess, playing games, giving gifts, and enjoying their Festival Feast!
About the Author
Lorin Manderly has been a practicing Witch for over twenty years. She has a special affection for the Witch's Sabbats and Esbats, and dreams of the day when celebrating the Wheel of Life and the life span of the God and Goddess will be something she does with her own family. She is a traveller, who prefers exploring to sitting still and adventure to almost everything else.
