About the Book
Manu’s Special Day is about a day in the life of a boy who lives with his grandmother in a rural village in the Caribbean, and his preparations to finally go and live with his mother in a country and a culture so different from his own. We see him the day before his “Special Day,” at play with his friends, and we share in his anxiety about this day and his dreams for the future.
About the Author
Joseth Reid-Tulloch taught Primary school in her native country, Jamaica, before migrating to Canada in 1994. She is presently a Registered Early Childhood Educator, and finds that there is no greater reward than witnessing a child's earliest steps or first words, or their sense of accomplishment after putting a puzzle piece in the right place. Joseth hopes to write more books that will educate as well as entertain young children, and that will also touch the child within us all.
