What made the Rocksparkles so different from the rest of the people in the kingdom was the fact that they were a family with an unusual number of multiple births. Among the fourteen Rocksparkle children were two sets of identical twins and two sets of identical triplets. You can imagine just how confusing it might be for Jasper and Jacinthe to have all these look-a-like children running around the house. It was well known in the countryside that life in the Rocksparkle household was never dull, for tricks were constantly being played by one or another of the twins or triplets, pretending to be their sibling. As a result of these tricks, the house was constantly filled with rollicking laughter. There are many interesting stories that could be told about the amusing antics of the Rocksparkle children, but it would take a very long time to tell them, so all these fun things will have to wait for now.
In this story you will get to know Ruby, Jasper's and Jacinthe's eighteen-year-old daughter. Now, all the Rocksparkle children are nice to look at. And there are many good things that can be said of each of them. They are obedient and loving and kind children. They have lovely manners and pleasant dispositions. And they are fun to be with.
But of all the children in the family, Ruby's special qualities make her stand out. By anyone's standard, Ruby is a beauty! Her mane of long, wavy chestnut hair frames a face whose complexion is as fresh as the dew. With her laughing eyes of bright blue, just a hint of blush pinking her cheeks, and a contagious grin, she is really quite lovely and appealing to all who look upon her. However, her mischievous grin, and her strong sense of fun often give her parents cause to worry about what she might be up to next.
But anyone who looks into Ruby's lovely expressive eyes can tell instantly that whatever fun she is busy concocting, it is always harmless mischief, and never, ever amounts to any kind of meanness. It is simply Ruby's nature to be an entertainer, and to make people smile and laugh. Certainly, she cannot help it if she has been born with this special gift! And those around her have never complained about the good feeling they have while in her company!
But Ruby also has a daring nature that sometimes leads her into adventures that might better have been left ignored. Jasper and Jacinthe often remark that after Ruby's birth the gray hairs on their heads multiplied at an alarming rate. Of course, Ruby always grins and promises "not to give them any more cause for premature aging." And she sincerely means it! She really does!!

Who would guess that Ruby Rocksparkle, an 18 year-old farmer’s daughter, would suddenly find herself masquerading as a male servant on a mission to bring happiness back to her land? And in doing so, that she would travel across three countries and experience adventures she had never even dreamed of in her wildest imagination?
About the Author
Jean Clemens Loftus has always been an avid reader. As a youngster, some of her favorites were Grimm’s Fairytales, the Nancy Drew books, and Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple mysteries. Jean lives in
Jean won a contest in a local paper for her short poetic story, “Pete, the Dog Who Was a Pig.” She is currently working on two other novels, “The Dream People,” and “My Heart Remembers.”
The inspiration for “Ruby Rocksparkle” came from a trip to the local mall with Jean’s granddaughter, Lindsay. Before returning home, ten year-old Lindsay asked to visit the Disney store. She always enjoyed entering into their magical world of fairytale stories, and browsing through the latest figurines and toys. As Jean drove home that day, she turned into Lindsay’s street, “Rocksparkle Row,” and saw the street sign in a different way. She thought, “Rocksparkle……Ruby Rocksparkle…....what a great name for a doll! But that doll would need a story,” so Jean went home and began to write “Ruby Rocksparkle, Her Wildly Incredible Adventure.”
