My Masculine Tree
As my eyes search out the beauty
As I feel a slight breeze sway
How my mind begins to wander
To a place I dream I’ll lay
As I watch the mighty branches
Grow awesome in the wind
I feel embraced by madness
And a fire builds within
There’s a power so demanding
As thoughts begin to fly
I feel so small, yet eager
As the falling leaves slip by
I let myself look skyward
To the towering limbs that wave
I feel the power, the passion
And I become enslaved
The mighty tree controls me
I become what it demands
It surely truly owns me
I’ll answer its command
My arms reach out to hold the wind
With warmth and love and care
Like branches full of want inside
My tree, my heart will share

About the Book
“Poems of Love and Life as seen through the eyes of the heart” is a collection of the feelings you experience in your total being, your body and your soul. The moment when you meet that one in a million person or when you look at a piece of nature and it seems to look back at you. An unexplainable tingle you get in your spine when you see a leaf moving but cannot see the wind that’s pushing it. Or that feeling you get when you think of a loved one who’s moved on and you know in your heart they are standing next to you. In other words, the truths and beliefs of your mind.
About the Author
Velva Darnell Waldman was born and raised in the mid-west to parents who instilled in her the belief that you can achieve anything you want in life as long as you remain honest to yourself and to others.
At a young age Velva began a career in music and has enjoyed every mile it’s taken her. After signing her first major recording contract, she traveled mostly with her own band, working as a solo act and on occasion worked group shows where she appeared with some of the greats.
With a sincere love for travel and performing, music has been as major part of her life and she’s been blessed through the years with a very supportive family and fan base.
Velva enjoys all forms of creative writing. And going hand in hand with singing a pretty love song is writing a pretty love poem. Aside from poetry, she’s written many, many song lyrics and is in the process of completing a series of children’s books.
