About the Book

It is a warm summers day and Oswald begins to daydream. He thinks back to times in his life that have been happy or sad and sometimes very scary.  He lovingly watched as the countryside around him changed over the years from open fields to a busy village.  Is he happy with how things have worked out? Will he be safe in the future as the village grows bigger?

About the Author

Patricia has been a teacher of history in Comprehensive schools is South Yorkshire for over thirty years. She has told stories, throughout her career, to encourage young people to appreciate and to understand the past. Oswald Daydreams is her second book and it gives an insight into the growth and development of a small village, called Thorpe Hesley, through the eyes of an oak tree who is now started in the middle of a housing estate.  This book fulfills two of her aims in life; to encourage children to love reading and learning and to see her ideas come to life in print.

She is married to George Mills who is an engineer but who also has a passion for art and he is the illustrator of her books.  They work together to produce enjoyable yet educational stories. Patricia intends to continue writing books for children in the future.
