Heart Flutters Bright glow of light, refresh the sight,When darkness makes us blind,New rules of justice from the start,To love each other fills the heart,And madness leaves the mind. Frustrations will not frolic here-Defeated rage is healed for years,Eternal life- the hope we share,Without the hours of forked rage,Our love gives praise with tears. Please cast out now the raccooned face,Sun’s sweet kisses slow our pace,When, flutters of the heart do err,Our need for others is to care-No longer do we have to race.

Silvia Slaten is currently a district librarian for a rapidly growing school district northeast of Dallas, Texas. Her background is as diverse as Texas where her educational career path has made a 360 degree circle-beginning in North Central Texas, and ending in North Central Texas. It is from life's experiences that she writes her poetry.
