About the Book
This book reflects on the tragic events of December 3, 1979, when a terrorist group attacked a bus of unarmed navy sailors in Sabana Seca, Puerto Rico, killing two men and wounding seventeen others. The book examines the events leading up to the attack, the aftermath and the fall-out and honors those men and women who made the sacrifice for our country.
About the Author
Born into a Navy family, V. J. Stovall (aka Virginia Joy Stovall) enrolled in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Program at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. Stovall became the first midshipman in her class to write and publish an NROTC yearbook commemorating six years of its history on campus. Graduated with honors and commissioned in 1978, Stovall served at many military installations, but her first tour of duty in Puerto Rico changed her life forever. Stovall retired from the Navy and is presently employed with the United States Postal Service. She resides with her family in Vallejo, California, and has two children, John, Britany and granddaughter, Brandi
