The house phone rang and Dhaex picked up the cordless and went to the back porch door way. She waited until the song went off and then asked to use the bathroom. Dhaex mouthed, "Sure, go ahead" and went outside.
When she finished, she went back into Zoe's room and picked up the phone. Somehow she was just dying to know who he was talking to.,
"Word is, she's saving it man." She heard Dhaex voice say.
"A virgin?" another voice called out. It sounded like his white roommate's.
"Yeah, Romie and I put a bet out. $1000. The thing is make her teach me English, make her fall for me and get her in bed by the end of the summer. Think I can do?

About the Book
Meet Paula, whose life is perfect. Or so she thinks. When Paula, a recent recipient of a Masters Degree in English as a Second Language, decides that she needs some practice on teaching ESL, her girlfriend Zoe graciously offers her brother Dhaex's help. Dhaex is no friend of Paula's and the two get off to a rocky start. When Dhaex and his friends discover that Paula is a virgin, they make a bet that Dhaex has to get Paula into bed before the summer is over. But Paula catches on to the bet quickly and is determined not to let Dhaex win. Will Paula put Dhaex in his place or will Dhaex be the missing ingredient in her life?
About the Author
This is Deanna Deloatch's first novel. She has taught in a number of capacities including teaching middle school English, English as a Second Language, drama, and collegiate classes. She has master degrees in Education and a M.B.A. She currently resides in Chesapeake, Virginia and is working on a second book entitled "Someone Cares."
