Some may say a tree is just a tree
But is that all that you see?
Roots, trunk and branches all combine
To create a miraculous design
Weeping willow, red cedar and the mighty oak
All swathed in natures finest cloak
Birds upon their branches come to rest
A home for them in which to nest
We need oxygen to stay alive
Without it the human race would not survive
Without the tree and photosynthesis
We would all cease to exist
As the yearly seasons change
So their dress they re-arrange
From dresses of many shades of green
To vibrant reds, oranges are seen
March sees spring arrive
And all of nature comes alive
Buds are bursting out all over
Creating a blanket of green cover
Blossoms of pink and white
Create a wondrous sight
A fragrance fills the air
As all of nature begins to stir
When April winds comes to call
Blustery gusts see blossoms fall
These blossoms fragrant and sweet
Create a carpet strewn at our feet
Summer brings a festoon of greenery
Laden trees compliment the scenery
The rustling sound of a summer breeze
As it swishes through the trees
Autumn is the most beautiful of all
As leaves of gold begin to fall
Like golden dubloons they flutter down
Surrounded by an array of red, gold and brown
All of nature goes to sleep
As the winter, on it creeps
The trees become stark and bare
They have no gowns left to wear

About the Book
Marrilynne has written poems about subjects so diverse that there is something here for everyone of all ages. You cannot help but be moved by the sincerity and simplicity with which she puts feeling into words and the pictures her words paint. The book is divided into three sections: Life, Nature, and Family. Her love of life and family, her passion for nature and the natural environment is evident in her poetry. She hopes that her poems will be enjoyed by those who share her sentiments and give others food for thought.
About the Author
Marrilynne Taylor (nee Jones) was born in 1950 in Bebington on the Wirral Peninsular, England. Living most of her life on the Wirral, and moved to Shropshire in 1997, where she has lived ever since.
Graduating from John Moores University in 1991 with an honours degree in psychology and in 1995 at Liverpool University with a diploma and master degree in social work.
She is a mother to two daughters and grandmother to three granddaughters. She remarried in 1999 to Ted Taylor.
Her occupation is that of senior social worker at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, employed by Shropshire Council.
She commenced writing poetry in April 2008 and has written a selection of poetry on a variety of subjects.
Inspired by her dream of seeing Maligne Lake in Jasper Alberta, she wrote her first poem entitled “Inside the Picture.” A flood gate was released and poems poured forth. She writes poetry because she cannot ignore the drive she has to do so.
