In these last four chapters, we will look at 'walking' in the Kingdom of God. In this chapter, we will learn how to seek God, and His Kingdom. We will go beyond prayer and reading His word, through the veil to praising Him, and entering into His presence, or Glory. God has, with the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire through Jesus, brought us 'back to the Garden!'
Because God created us in His image with a 'free will,' he cannot force us to seek Him, nor can He force us into the Kingdom. Only two of the Israelites who left Egypt with Moses actually entered the Promised Land. Thousands died in the wilderness, not willing to cross the Jordan. Crossing the Jordan took great faith. The Red Sea parted for Moses when he put his staff into the water, but Joshua had to step into the Jordan River before the water parted. Walking into abundant life with Christ takes great faith. The Bible says, "the righteous shall live by faith."
What are 'these things' that shall be added to us when we seek first the Kingdom? God wants to restore us to the Garden the way He created it to be before the fall of man. He provided a way through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and resurrection. Many of us have followed the way and received Jesus' atonement for our sins, but we are not exercising our 'rights,' or righteousness, in the Kingdom (garden). God told Adam to have dominion, be fruitful, and multiply. Jesus told us to take authority, they would know us by our fruit, and to go and make disciples. 'These things' are added to you: the authority of Jesus' name, and the power of the Holy Spirit to witness -- which is the gifts of the Spirit, and the fruit of the Spirit. God has restored to us. through Jesus, the power and authority to walk as Jesus walked. Jesus said, "he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father." (John 14:12) In the last three chapters, we will look at each of these 'things' in detail: authority in the Garden, power in the Garden, and fruit in the Garden.
Put your foot into the Jordan River in faith, and get ready to cross! Be blessed! You are going . . . back to the Garden!

Melissa has been teaching and training disciples for 24 years. She is the president of Faith Alive Ministries, and the founder of the Disciple House on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
