'Why, why again! It's just not fair. Now I will have to rush to find another place to live before winter gets cold." Those were the frustrated words of Badger, after his home was being destroyed by encroaching development. How many times we take away the homes and nesting places to meet our own needs and seldom think of leaving a little space for nature's inhabitants.
The story was written after the author suddenly saw a badger on her 18 acre farmland. Badgers are quite illusive, so it was quite a surprise. Neighbors, however, have told her that badgers are common to the area.
About the Author
Inge has been writing stories and poems all of her life. She is especially interested in the aspects of nature and woodland creatures. This is the first picture book she has done although she did do illustrations for someone else, last year. The first writing was not in poetical form, but was something that was developed after she began the illustrations.
