The special atmosphere of sacred places, spontaneous feelings of purity and beauty are all around. People tend to feel 'just right' here, being at the right place, re-connected to Nature, to God. Traveling around the world, I often experienced this 'just right' feeling of one-ness and unity at sacred places. Only as one leaves these places does a feeling of missing something emerge. The painful lack of harmony is justified, as the sacred place retains something from the completeness of creation, while mundane life is separated from it. Ludas-tó be one of these sacred places. Whether it is the environment that attracts people, or it's the people generating the sanctity of the place could not be decided. One thing is for sure: at Ludas-tó, this magic works. I tried to capture it on my pictures.

Katalin Ubornyák is a Hungarian artist, photographer and painter, currently living in London. Her aim is to find the inherent beauty of the world, honouring the Great Creator, rather than taking the beauty what's already there. The technique opens up the possibilities to create what we want, to see what we want - but changing our visual perception can help to find what we are looking for and the better understand of the world.
