About the Book
The focus of this textbook is to offer the student a very clean and clear digested view of wines from around the world. Our study habits typically are to extract notes in the form of flash cards and those become our study guide. This textbook, has extracted the key issues, grapes, regions, wine laws, maps and brief text to aid expeditiously those students studying for wine exams and alike.
About the Author
DiMaggio Washington has taught wine classes for over a decade at various colleges in California, including the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School. He was encouraged and inspired to publish this textbook by his students as their input led to the specific needs for fast facts and consolidated wine information. A brief background: The passion for wine took over after several trips to Napa and Sonoma. He completed wine courses at UC Davis and UCLA. Shortly after he joined a small import business, for Italian and French wines which led to opening a wine retail / tasting bar and restaurant. He continued his education through the Court of Masters for Certified Sommelier and through the WSET program and now as a WSET Instructor.
