About the Book

It is my belief that women are powerful creatures.  Women from the past and now have had the power to take care of themselves, their children, and they’ve also had the power to be able to ‘lead the way’.

But for some reason, most women don’t want to use their power, aren’t sure whether or not they have any power at all, or simply choose to use only a little bit of their power in a more silent and ‘behind-the-scenes’ type of way.

Well, this book contains poetry about everyday life and people but it also features short stories about strong women.  Strong, intelligent, and fearless women who were not afraid to use their power to navigate successfully through a man’s world but with femininity and grace.  Now, this book is NOT about feminism or feminists because feminists appear to be always trying to prove something to men and to the rest of the world.

Women in the United States of America would not have had to waste their time in the 1970’s fighting for equal rights, gender equality, and trying to liberate themselves from male domination if they had used their powers and refused to put up with being placed into disadvantaged and subservient positions in life and in society in the first place.

Anyway, the short stories toward the end of this book are about amazing, loving, and powerful women and most importantly the men in their lives who loved them…….dearly.

About the Author

Epic of A Soldier............

Is the second book of poetry and short stories written by Jessica Jackson.  Jessica, a graduate of DeKalb Technical College in Clarkston, Georgia U.S.A., has enjoyed writing stories since the age of 9 but didn't get truly serious about writing until her senior year at Lithonia High School in Lithonia, Georgia  U.S.A. while taking a British Literature class.  One of the best teachers Jessica had ever had was Ms. Judy Davis.  Ms. Davis had a style of teaching and enthusiasm that made British Literature actually interesting to Jessica and Ms. Davis made it come alive and this encouraged Jessica to make her thoughts, opinions, true feelings, wishes, and dreams come alive too……..by writing stories.
