That’s one stem out of many damaged roots affecting the growth of their friendship. Although on the surface; amongst women this kind of relationship is considered normal, the deterioration of her tolerance proved it damaging.
As Jasmine sat waiting for Shawntay to arrive, she engaged in mental chat over the many things offering her life discomfort. First thing being her catty boss, Becky, whom had obviously become quite contagious, then her list of men-toys who bored her after no more than thirty minutes on the date. Once leaving the surface of her thoughts Jasmine perusing over the state of her affairs, came to a most vital conclusion; in addition to the lonely nights she’d just spent buried in work, she would have done herself a disservice if not crediting her inner circle of emotionally unstable girlfriends, for the mischief they’d added to the equation.
There was no one to fill the intimacies of her life. She lacked wholeness; no one had ever looked above the curve of her thighs long enough to cradle the distress perforating the depth of her gaze. Or even to know that her most settle desire, was to one day be able to collapse into the secured crevices of a REAL man’s arms at night. She began to ponder over if she’d been sending out the wrong message all along; a message that magnetically forced her into experiencing life in the lowest form of independence: depriving her of the aptitude to escape her fleshly governesses. By this time the slow cruise of Vodka on the rocks begin to strip away her sanity, yet still, she could not fathom succumbing to spending her life with the norm. She thought her life must be hell for sure, with the exception of being fortunate enough to nab a prominent position within a successful time withstanding company; although, getting into the door cost her a cheap date, expensive pair of edible thong’s and an addition to her collection of men-toys. For this price landed her a position that over three-fourths of the population envied for; with her hint of one miserable girlfriend, Shawntay, definitely being in that majority percentile. Though with a house and car reflecting financial achievements, and most perceiving her life so far from attainable that it took on a look of perfection, Jasmine, who felt the truth of her reality, knew this façade had bounded her to living a life submerged in misery.
As she sat meditatively thinking over how to counteract the conflict she’d managed to invite into her life, one thing came to mind, her circle of influence. In order to make the kind of impact that her life most desperately needed, she had to first purge the drama, before she could begin enjoying her many blessings at whole. This meant she would have to tweak everything in affiliation with her "I’ll kill myself just to be like the Joneses" lifestyle.
"Purge and carefully replace with positive reacting components" Jasmine mused out loud.
She could feel her thoughts leading up to something constructive because the nature of this message was delivered to her in Sunday school as a child. She was taught for advancement purposes to always surround herself with subservient people and things. In lowering her optimism to disillusionment she began questioning why that lesson hadn’t protected her from making the emotional decisions that were, at that point, cursing her life. Fully engulfed in the steady flow of emotions governing her views, she became submissive in contemplating without hesitation
"Replace... Carefully replace with positive reacting component... But Drew... He’s my most valuable treasure; who would I replace him with? I can do this though, I can, I just need a little time". After all, the only thing she would really be loosing is stressed related headaches. Nonetheless, will her slow approach toward implementing necessary change prove itself deadly!
