Delta 816 has received a radio call of a reported disturbance at 3418 McKenzie Drive. Wendy Hall takes the radio microphone and advises the dispatcher that Delta 816 is clear on the call and in route to the location. While driving to 3418 McKenzie Drive Wendy Hall is requesting for any additional information about the call and hears radio traffic that her back up unit will be Delta 814 Jonas Brooks and he was in route to the call also. The dispatcher advises Delta 816 and Delta 814 that the only information on the call was a possible domestic disturbance between a man and a woman. Wendy Hall is familiar with the address of 3418 McKenzie Drive as she and other officers on the Delta shift have been to the residence of Floyd and Alice Baker several times.  Wendy Hall calls into to the dispatcher asking for warrant checks’ on Floyd and Alice Baker. Derek Small looks to his FTO and asks her if she knows the people at 3418 McKenzie Drive. Wendy answers Derek this is a regular call on the Delta shift and he too would become acquainted with the Bakers. Derek asked Wendy why she ran a warrant check if she knew the Bakers and Wendy advises Derek it is procedure to check for warrants on all calls for service and traffic stops. Wendy Hall advises Derek when they get to the call that his job was just to stand there and not speak, and if he had questions to hold them and she would answer them after they cleared from the call. Derek acknowledges Wendy that he was clear about what he was supposed to do.  As Delta 816 and Delta 814 go 10-97 (arrive at call) and get out of their patrol cars, they can hear yelling from the streets as they walk to the front door at 3418 McKenzie Drive. As Wendy and Derek start toward the door Jonas joins them as they walk up the driveway. Jonas looks at Wendy and tells her that it sounds like the same old crap just a different day.  Wendy looks over to Derek and tells him to remember to just watch and listen.  Wendy and Jonas stand at the door one on each side as Wendy takes Derek by the arm and pulls him out of the doorway and places him to her back as she knocks on the door.  The officers can no longer hear the yelling and screaming they had heard when they got out of their patrol cars and were walking toward the residence.  No sound was coming from inside the residence it was totally silent. Wendy knocks on the door at 3418 McKenzie Drive and gets no response. Jonas knocks on the door again and gets no response when Wendy yells in a loud voice, “Police come to the door Floyd”.  The officers can now hear voices inside, and again as Wendy yells in a loud voice to the occupants to come to the door.  Floyd Baker opens the door but he can’t see the officers as they are out of sight of the open door. As the door comes open Wendy steps into sight and looks at Floyd Baker who is dressed in gray sweat pants and a t-shirt. Wendy looks at Floyd and asks him what is going on and Floyd opens the door and begins to explain to Wendy, Jonas, and Derek that he and Alice were just arguing. Floyd invites the officers into his home and he looks back toward Alice who was setting on the couch with a look of hate toward the direction of Floyd.  Floyd looks at Wendy and begins to explain that he was sorry that the three officers had to come to his home for nothing and he and Alice had been drinking some beer and got into an argument because Alice thought he had been out drinking all day and when he came home Alice accused him of smelling of perfume.  Alice Baker intervened into the conversation and tells the officers that Floyd was an asshole and he had been down visiting the woman at 3412 McKenzie Drive. Floyd speaks back to Alice and tells her he had not been down to 3412 McKenzie Drive in several weeks when Alice reacts by picking up a beer bottle and throws it hitting Floyd in the back. Jonas Brooks quickly grabs Alice Baker and forces her hands behind her back and handcuffs her and tells her she didn’t have to do that.  Floyd screams at Jonas Brooks that Alice was just upset and didn’t mean to hit him with the beer bottle.  Jonas Brooks yells back to Floyd that Alice can’t act like that in front of the police and takes Alice by the arm and heads toward the door telling Alice she is under arrest for domestic assault. Floyd Baker is pleading with Wendy not to arrest Alice because she didn’t mean to hit him with the beer bottle.  Alice Baker looks at Floyd and tells him it is his fault she is going to jail and she looks at Wendy and tells her to smell the perfume on Floyd.  Wendy tells her it didn’t matter if Floyd smelled of perfume and she couldn’t be throwing things at Floyd and hitting him in front of the police.  Jonas walks Alice Baker out the door and down the driveway to the patrol cars parked in front of the house and waits for Wendy and Derek.  Wendy tells Floyd that Alice is going to jail as Floyd tells Wendy he is not going to testify against her.  Floyd yells at Alice and tells her he will be at the police station in the morning and get her out of jail and that he loves her.
