Here’s a book for you. Authors Traci Davis & Vicki Holleman-Perez have written The Momma Guide, providing everyday practical advice for mommas everywhere. The Momma Guide addresses topics are far-ranging as birth, health problems, depression, divorce, death, and everything in between. As inspirational as it is informational, the hefty volume (461 pages) is a handy reference guide whenever something new and challenging comes up around the house. And though it might be easy to think of it as a “Desk Reference for Moms,” the information within is equally applicable to dads.

Written by mommas for mommas—a book-length reassurance that “You are not alone” and “You’re not the only one who’s ever had difficulty understanding how to be a good momma”—the delightful book took longer to write than normal because the author’s, practicing what they preach, put their families first, often writing with a child on their lap.

About the Author

TRACI DAVIS~~ co-author of The Momma Guide, is a mom and damn proud of it! Her upbringing, as part of a farming and ranching family, provided her with a can-do attitude that continues to inform everything she does. Finding fun the good old fashioned way, she rode horses with her friends and made up games as they went along.

Traci and her husband Tom live in Texas, where they enjoy the farming and ranching life with their two beautiful daughters, Laurel and Taylor. "My family and I attend the local cowboy church and love the atmosphere. It feels so at home."

Experienced in showing horses and cattle in 4-H, Future Farmers of America, and other local circuit events, Traci received the FFA's highest honor, the My American Farmer Award, and in 1988 was the Rodeo Queen in Othello, Washington.

A certified first responder and a licensed equine massage therapist, Traci is also a successful businesswoman and member of the Mills County Chamber of Commerce. She owned and managed TLC Cleaning for over ten years and now runs Tan Yer Hide and Tone It, Too! Mobile toning and tanning spa. Traci has also written "A cleaning business 'Maid' Simple!" and other small guides as well.

VICKI HOLLEMAN-PEREZ~~~ co-author of The Momma Guide, is a native of Eastern Washington. An avid horsewoman who grew up around ranching and rodeos, a variety of equine disciplines, including barrel-racing, gaming events, and western pleasure equitation, soon became second nature. “I grew up in 4-H and FFA,” she says, “winning awards in both organizations. All of these activities led to my participating in rodeo queen competitions that culminated with the 1994 Miss Rodeo Washington title and competing at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant.”

For fifteen years, Vicki and her husband Jose have owned and operated a DJ/karaoke company. She is the mother of twins, Riley and Macenna. Co-president of the Kittitas Parent Group, Board of Director for the Miss Rodeo Washington Association, and Queen Director for Washington State High School Rodeo Association, she holds a BA in Speech Communications and Public Relations as well as an AS in Marketing. She’s also a freelance graphic designer.

Among Vicki’s honors are FFA Chapter Horse Proficiency Awards, Miss Rodeo Washington, Miss Pacific Coast Rodeo Association, Molalla Buckaroo Rodeo Queen, and

Yamhill County Roundup Queen.
