About the Book

"Chucky The Car" is a simple and expressive story about a car whose life was deteriorating until one day a "fine, old gentleman" saved him from the junk yard.  Chucky was given a new home, love, caring, and a new life.  The story shares two negative encounters with a "local bully"; a smart sports car.  Chucky's determination to be strong in his beliefs, his now newfound life is willing to overlook the faults of others.  The story ends when the smart sports car and Chucky become friends. 

Words associated with the illustrations are printed on each page to allow the reader to relate them with the particular scene.  Opportunities abound throughout the story for one to learn about harmony, love, happiness, friendship, achievement and many other positive attributes one learns during their life. 

As the pages are turned, the reader experiences reading words of the story and seeing the illustrations relating to positive words and through coloration of the illustrations, one can express their own feelings about Chucky's wonderful experiences.


About the Author

Ray Olszewski is an amateur illustrator and published writer who puts positive thoughts and insights into his writings.  Ray retired after many careers working for the United States Federal Government as an U.S. Navy enlisted man and as a civil servant.  Ray also worked in program management, marketing and business development positions for UNISYS and Litton/PRC Corporations.  He boasts proudly being retired 5 times. 

Ray is originally from the Pittsburgh, PA area and lived in Virginia for nearly 40 years where he began his writing career after retiring.  He found interest writing human interest stories for various periodicals such as Washington Golf Magazine and the Bull Run Observer newspaper.  He also wrote articles about Virginia's wine history for the Prince William County Library RELIC program as well as for the Virginia Wine Gazette. 

Ray now lives in Arizona where he continues writing and pursuing his publishing endeavors.  The book "Chucky The Car" evolved from a project while Ray was art student at HarBrack High School where he graduated in 1957.
