On to the west, on the Plain of Meggido, The Reverend I. T. Heggy also looked up. So did hundreds of thousands of his followers. There was no warning alarm, no siren. It was as if someone had shouted “Hey, look at that!” There was a sudden blinding flash and Poof! went I.T. Poof! Poof! Poof! went each of his followers. Another mushroom cloud rose up from the earth. There were no reports of Jesus Christ riding through the cloud on a white stallion. There were no reports at all.
Back in Washington D.C. buried three floors down beneath the Pentagon; President David Trees was gathered with all of his senior military advisors. They too were watching real time satellite imagery. They saw the mushroom clouds forming over Baghdad, Jerusalem, and parts of India. Iran had decided to preempt the Chinese takeover of the oil fields. Iran had decided to call an end to the Mid East War. Iran had decided to dominate what would be left of the world. President Trees was very dismayed. He knew deep in his heart that his friends had been raptured away. President Trees did not Poof! Mrs. Trees did not Poof! There were no reports of Christian citizens of the United States suddenly disappearing while they drove their cars or while they took a crap. No one outside the bomb zones poofed.
A senior astrophysicist rushed into the room. He looked at the satellite imagery. He saw the real time videos of mushroom clouds rising into the atmosphere. He was aware of the silence engulfing the room. “Mr. President!” he said urgently. “We've got a bigger problem!
