I remember
I remember you then, Gran,
I see you in your garden again
Where every day you prayed for rain;
A straw hat shaded your head,
You carried water to every bed,
Roses' perfume on the air,
Gladioli colours everywhere.
I remember you now, Gran,
I stand where you used to be;
Colours and scents surround me;
A legacy of bulbs and seeds
You planted so I could reap;
Now I shall add a drop of rain,
Tears to water your flowers again.
