About the Book

'A Journey into life' is poetry that speaks about the journey of the human soul. As we get more integrated in this life and suffer heartbreak, experience disappointments or simply a different way of living life in a material way, we forget where we come from.

The various poems in this book shows the bits and pieces of what individuals go through during the process of growing up. Love, Awareness, Choices, Conflicts and others.

It is important to make choices during our journey into this life because in the end, our souls return to where they come from, to another life. The inner values that we learn during our journey in this world such as patience, love, cooperation, tolerance and others, are all the tools we need for the life after this journey.

About the Author

I was born in Rome, Italy on 2nd January 1973. I lived in Sweden 1976 – 1977. Tanzania 1978-1989, India 1989-1991, Tanzania 1991-1997, during this time, my daughter Melissa Yvonne Tesha was born on 4th June 1994. From 1999 until now I have been living in the Netherlands. Netherlands is a great country and I have learned a lot from the people and the culture.

Since 2007 I am doing community development work under Green Waters Foundation www.green-waters.org

It has always been my dream to bring changes into society. My work with the foundation helps me to achieve this dream.

Some of the poems in this book 'A journey into life' are inspired by the projects we do in Tanzania. Some are inspired by love and some by the different experiences that I have learned from everyone within the foundation and outside the foundation.

This unique poetry book forms a valuable source of reflection on life. The author provides interesting and wise perspectives on personal and societal aspects of life, such as fate, love and the relationship between democracy and good government. The themes that are addressed in the book are easily relatable to any person?s life, and allow the reader to apply the lessons provided by the poems to their own life, circumstances and character. The poems often raise questions that invite the reader to answer them for him or herself. Besides the fact that the poetry book is perfectly suited as a means of reflection, meditation and relaxation, the poems also teach the reader about the important values in life.

"In ""A Journey Into Life"", Stella Tesha takes us on a journey of life from Europe to the villages of Africa and back again. Nothing hidden here. These are straightforward poems written from the heart.

A young woman asks her lover ""Would I be enough for you"" forever? A girl lies in bed thinking of her new husband ""old enough to be her grandpa."" An eleven year old girl becomes bride eligible when she experiences her first menses, and her mother holds her weeping in her arms while her father, overjoyed at the bride price of a cow, looks at all the ways their lives will be better when the cow is brought home.

In ""I'm always so hungry"", an orphan girl roams the streets of a city stealing food. Outrunning her pursuers and the stones they throw,she thinks: ""Why am I running away?/ If the big stones get me / then hunger will be gone. / I'm always so hungry. I'm hungry to be a child.""

In ""I am Africa"", Ms. Tesha says ""Try to remember that."" You don't feel the pain that I feel, that I see. When you give aid (or refuse it), ""all you give is aid. I am Africa, and that won't change."" Try to remember that.

The love poems express her love for her daughter, her sweetheart, love and life. Her heart is big, it encompasses much. ""A Journey into Life"" is a book I will go on mining for the rest of my life. I recommend it."

I read the book at the most difficult time of my life. I had just lost a parent and was in a foreign land. I found comfort in sharing the experiences and realising there is more in life. I still refer to the different poems whenever I feel down. Thank you Stella!
