Chapter One
Your day always starts fine with all that new determination and new ideas. You see a new fresh day with new things to do. An idea or project might seem like a good idea at the time and it very well could be. But for some that great idea can quickly be a bad one, but too late for that. It was a sunny but cool day in Seaburn as Anya was standing outside the Seaburn Centre waiting for her friend who was inside; She was standing in the pathway between the Seaburn Centre and the Pullman Lodge Hotel as this was where a side entrance was, she gazed at the almost cloudless sky as a soft breeze made the trees sway in its whispering breath. Seaburn is in the North East of England, and is a long stretch of beach, with amusement arcades, restaurants and shops, the Seaburn centre is mainly a gym but has been used for functions in the past. Anya and Kay were the best of friends and met up at the seafront everyday, when at work for their dinners. Kay was studying to be a nurse at the local university and hospital, Anya merely worked at a music store in the city of Sunderland. Eventually Kay came out of the Seaburn centre main entrance with a guy in tow; she seemed to be getting his phone number, which made Anya groan quietly. When Kay reached Anya the guy went the other way, with two other guys.
`You know some people come out of the toilet with loo roll stuck to their feet, you on the other hand have to come out with a guy stuck to you.' `I know it's a gross place to meet someone but I couldn't help it he was just so cute and apparently he's a fitness instructor. I bet he knows a few moves.' Kay winked and gave a playful nudge to Anya as they went on their way. They went to a fish shop and got fish and chips each and then went over the busy road, dodging cars as they ran, to the grassy bank that overlooked the beach area. The place they liked to sit and eat everyday was a haven for bikers; they were down at a little tea and coffee stall just below where the women sat. Anya and Kay liked to sit and eye them up. Anya liked to look at the bikes, Kay, the bikers. `I feel dreadful today' said Kay `Just a little hung over.' Kay pulled out a little pocket mirror from her handbag and proceeded to fiddle with her long blonde hair. The day was neither hot nor cold, just that bit in-between Anya thought. The sun shone as a slight breeze blew and in the breeze you could smell salt air and fish and chips. She could hear children playing, people chatting, the sound of the arcades and the waves as they banged mercifully against the sea bed. Just the sounds and smells you'd come to expect from where they were sat. Although being ten feet from Harley Davidson's gave the air that slight smell of oil, not a beach smell she thought. `That's what you get for drinking the night before work, you will never learn.' `I know, self inflicted pain no sympathy right?' `You got that right.' Kay just laughed and put back the mirror. She then winked at a biker who was watching her, he winked back. Anya nudged her and her dinner nearly went flying.

About the Book
Set in ancient and modern times, `Ancient Destiny' takes you on a journey with two very modern women as they venture into ancient Egypt. Based in Egypt around 3100 BC in a city called Dendera, a pharaoh calls upon the Egyptian Gods to help him in dire times as he is in danger of losing to a dark enemy. Just then a spell made thousands of years in the future, connects with the ancient spell thus sending the women into ancient times. The pharaoh is facing defeat by the mighty sorcerer who is intent on sending Egypt and the world into darkness. In Egypt there is the kind hearted pharaoh, Yami and the bad tempered sorcerer, Seto by his side. They have to defeat an evil sorcerer named Set, so called after the god Set. He is hell bent on killing the pharaoh and plunging Egypt into darkness using the power of the shadow world, a dark place that exists alongside our own world, Set has control of this dark realm. The mix of modern and ancient proves to have its problems due to differences in views and decisions, but they must work together if they are to succeed in saving Egypt from this madman. But in then in the end it is the destiny of one that decides their fate and the outcome of this strange set of circumstances, but will love play a more important part in that?
About the Author
My name is Helen Dobinson, I'm a 31yr old married mother of two. Writing in a busy house with two children running around is hard, but I get there eventually I have only been writing for round about 2-3 years. I have studied Ancient Egypt as a hobby for many years and have always been fascinated by it. From that came the desire to create stories about Egypt past and present, Egypt was the inspiration for all of my writing. I find Egypt a wonderful country steeped in history, with its magical settings and landmarks. In the future I wish to study Egyptology professionally and gain a career there, but always keep up with the writing. An Egyptologist is like an Archaeologist, but their specialist field is Egypt. For the past few months I have worked alongside a business advisor who has helped me with the writing and gaining interest. She had a website developed for me with the first three chapters of three of my books on for the purpose of gaining feedback, the website is www.egyptianfiction.co.uk. My first novel `Ancient Destiny' is about two women who are sent back to ancient Egypt by the way of a spell and end of aiding a pharaoh in his hour of need. They are two very modern women in a very man ruled word, you read along and find out how they cope with that. The basis of the story is that your destiny controls what life has in store for you, and in store for the characters. Set in beautiful ancient Egypt, a time before the pyramids were built, this story has adventure, history, battles, twists and love. I have two more books currently in the making, they are adventures based in modern day Egypt, still with that ancient twist. I also have more ideas in the pipeline, modern and ancient. Beautiful Egypt has always been the inspiration of my books, and the same inspiration for the rest still to come.
