About the Book

The book is divided into 3 genre's, humour, general and romance. This is the Author's first book and it should appeal to both the younger and older reader. The poems are simple and easy to understand and are written in a real poetic style.

The Author now lives quietly in the small and beautiful village of Forder, Cornwall which nestles, surrounded by hills close to the Rivers Lynher and Tamar. His cottage overlooks a small  harbour and his later poems reflect his love for this idyllic area.

About the Author

I did not start writing poetry until later on in life and believe that it is my life experiences and emotions that coerced me into doing it. Although I had written some poetry earlier I think it was the premature loss of my Wife and then meeting my childhood sweetheart, Linda who I hadn't seen for nearly 40 years that pushed me in that direction.

I have written a variety of genre's but would really like to write more humour. Many of my poems are emotional and I am a romantic at heart. Now I have taken up the challenge of writing I would like to write many more poems and have already started to prepare for a second book.

I have spent most of my life travelling around the world and particularly Asia, spending about 6 years living in Sri Lanka, a country I have a great love for and keep returning there at every opportunity.

I have one Daughter and two Sons and they have gifted me with 4 grandchildren between them from 2 years old up to nearly 19.

My Wife was a really good artist and she had always encouraged me to write poetry but sadly it was not until I had lost her that I created most of my work. Meeting Linda again after so many years inspired me to continue with writing and I would like to dedicate this book to my dear Wife Kay and my love and  hearfelt thanks to Linda who created in me a reason to write.

I have been blessed with a good life full of fun and surprises tinged with great sadness latterly. I think it has been a combination of these emotions that urged me towards poetry.
