Life teaches lessons, and most of us will be forced to learn things that we never dreamed we needed to know. A family member who has assumed the role of caregiver is always a caregiver, even when he is off on a flight by himself, he needs to return home when he is expected, and when flying a light aircraft that requirement can prompt a very dangerous situation. The caregiver in this story set out on what was to be a one day, eleven hundred mile round trip. It was to start in the early morning, but radio problems delayed the start of the flight. Contrary winds slowed the outbound leg; cloud cover delivered icing conditions, going and returning home. A combination of confusion, fatigue, ice, exhaustion, and a late night return, caused the over due caregiver to fly through the glide slope twice, before getting everything right to bring the ice laden aircraft onto its final approach course. It was a rocky landing, but it was right side up. he was late, but he was home and back on the job.

About the Book
The teacher in this story was a short stocky lady, who, though mentally challenged had an uncanny ability to teach. She could not, or rather would not carry a conversation, but she did have the tenacity to cause those around her to learn whatever she was teaching: What she wished to eat; where she wanted to go; who would be her companion. Her name was Cheryl. Cheryl's mother, Beverly, was 39 when she took a tumble down a flights of steps while exiting a building where she had been the evenings keynote speaker. About the Author
The person telling this story was the husband, father, and caregiver of the two principle characters. When the family traveled, he was the driver, pilot, and the support person. as problems progressed, he became the cook and housekeeper in the evenings and weekends all the while holding a very demanding job. His writing experience only amounted to 16 years of writing assembly instructions as a process engineer.
