About the Book
Breast cancer in women of color seems to be a growing issue, however, there is not, or at least I didn't find much information to help me with issues that are unique to us. Brown skin, dark skin, olive skin. I'm sharing some of what worked for me. Not by any means as an expert. Just a middle aged, working class, single parent. Some of the different products I found to help me deal with my skin and hair. How I dealt with all of the different doctors. How I learned to deal with coworkers, family and friends. Most importantly, how I learned to deal with and heal my mind and spirit in the face of many obstacles, both professionally and personally.
About the Author
I believe this book may be useful and insightful to woman of color who are or will have to deal with the struggles, not just the disease, of breast cancer. As a breast cancer survivor, it was extremely difficult to find information on how to deal with some of the issues that women of color faced. Hopefully, it will also give some insight to those who know and have to deal with people going through this. Maybe it will help them understand a little more what she may be going through.
