About the Book
The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Strikers Guide for Trainers and Fighters is an essential tool in the learning and development of striking skills for the beginning stand up or MMA fighter. If you already have good hands and experience, this guidebook will assist in improving positioning for vicious strikes without getting beat-up in the process. This book, though written for strikers, is also very useful to the grappler. It will aid the grappler in obtaining positions for takedowns through the utilization of the various defenses and defensive strategies.
About the Author
Joseph F. de la Guevara aka: Joe Guevara has been in the boxing business for over 48 years as a world contender, a boxing gym owner, and trainer. Joe is a 2-time Golden Glove Champion, a 2-time State Champion, and a North American Boxing Federation Champion; all but one of those titles coming within 5 years.
Having sold his beloved Capitol Boxing Gym in 2004 he was asked to start training Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters. Enjoying MMA competition as much as boxing, he started training fighters at one of Sacramento’s most influential gyms. His defensive and offensive combinations have been his most useful tools in preparing young strikers for battle. His experience, in and out of the ring, is reflected in his MMA Strikers Guidebook for Trainer’s and Fighter’s. His insight on wrapping ones hands for competition and/or the gym is invaluable for those looking to participate in boxing and/or MMA. In addition to training young fighters, Joe also works for the California State Athletic Commission as an “Athletic Inspector” and was inducted into the "Mexican-American Hall of Fame Sports Association"
