About the Book

Sometimes, artwork is an expression of one's soul, other times it's inspiration. I am very passionate about my work and my role as a teacher. I hope this book serves as a tool to build awareness, foster respect and curiosity about others and their cultural, regional, or spiritual differences.

About the Author

As a Palestinian-American raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands, I have been blessed by the natural beauty of the island and its diverse population. It has allowed me to tap into my innate creativity and build a strong appreciation for growth and development. As a teacher and a mother of four amazing children, this book was created to foster basic awareness of a minority that has been misrepresented and misunderstood. I chose this format because children generally ask question freely and out of genuine curiosity. It is my hope to shed a light on our differences either in beliefs, traditions, or holidays, while encouraging respect and appreciation of our uniqueness. ~Sana Hamed-Asad
