About the Book
Skinny sat writing to an insurance company who had made it their best interest to exploit his claim in deceit - "suddenly" ink flowed in aggravation, what was meant to be a rather poignant spew turned into a second hand "no holds barred" account of his life. Reasons for leaving a life of security to go trucking the Arctic iceroads, work in dangerous coal mines, or load DC-3's for the northern based Buffalo Airways tell stories of childhood abuse and spontaneous travel. Skinny relates many points of view on what he thinks of society as a whole - views that at times even he wishes to understand - finally forced to settle down, turn around and look back... this is one "wild & crazy" guy's version of truth... "with a twist!"
About the Author
Skinny grew up center of nine - though religion was focal point, his father was an overbearing thug who only allowed "his family" to exist on "his terms!" Moving town to town, the old man beat the self esteem out of Skinny on a regular basis. In early teens quiting school to work in a factory soon found him recognized by mainstream society as quite prominent in the local business world - an importance and material wealth his low self esteem was never taught to handle. True love introduced an angel at the age of sixteen, years later selfishness and anxiety also destroyed "that" which was never fully appreciated. Skinny could not get over the way his nasty old man treated him. Throwing away an easy future he decided to travel - searching unconditional acceptance he knew was so rightfully deserved. Braving the Arctic barrens, falling down Austrian Alps, or wandering crowded streets of Asia, places Skinny went and things he did would make normal folk shake their heads? Eventually, getting married in the Philippines brought responsibility of settling down. Eleven years now ( in the same town and the same house ) has encouraged the audacity to tear a strip out of a world that could probably care less. Skinny speaks for all of us ( and we know who we are? )
