About the Book

Writing these poems began as a therapeutic process which turned into words that supported me during a very tumultuous period in my life. The poetry that unfolded manifested itself as an inspirational source that further comforted me during this difficult season. Ironically, the poems were able to transcend my own personal experiences and can be applied to anyone's life as an inspirational thought that can be carried through out your day. Then it becomes my hope for you my reader, that the poems found within these pages bring you the same amount of solace, inspiration, and contentment, that it provided me as I created them just for you.

About the Author

The author was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago and she relocated to the US to pursue her education in psychology. She is a single parent of a three-year-old little boy who she considers to be her most precious and valuable gem. She was married for eight years but the relationship abruptly ended. During this process she remained a dedicated mother and student as she continued to pursue her doctoral education. The divorce process that ensued was tremendously turbulent because she used all of her means and strength fighting for her little gem. However during this period of tremendous hardship, as a path of self-reflection, she rediscovered her inner voice, this time in the form of poetry. Her passions, desires and underlying strengths were able to be conveyed as her poems began to transcend her own life altering experiences. Subsequently these poems began to touch the lives of countless others as she shared her poems with friends and family. It was at this time she began to discover that through her words of pain, inner strength and inspiration, that the struggle of her life was not hers alone, rather her voice reflected the life experiences of many. As a result of this life changing metamorphosis her poems embraced the challenges faced in life, as well as, it provided inspirational food for thought. Directly or indirectly these poems reiterate the importance of family, deepening friendships, it provides meaning to our individual life experiences, and the understanding that our life woes are securely placed in the bosom of the one above.
