Early one morning, The Owner caught his beloved horse talking to her reflection in the water trough. He stood out-of-sight and listened as she said --rather tentatively at first, “You are a Champion every day and in every way. You know it, and everyone around you knows it. You can do this, and you KNOW you can. You CAN do this, and YOU know you can!”
After a short pause, She Who Makes Dust said it again…this time with a little more passion and a lot less reservation. The Owner's heart surged with joy.
A few weeks later, The Owner was surprised to find her stall empty. He turned and saw She Who Makes Dust high-steppin' it out in the pasture. As He drew near, He discovered she was actually dancing to the rhythm of her words:
I…am…a Champion!
Everyday and in ev-er-y way
I know it, I know it
Everyone around me knows it
They know it
I can do this and I KNOW I can
I can do this and...I know I can
I…am…a Champion!
Peace Out!
The Owner knew then that it was only a matter of time before She Who Makes Dust would be running her next race. It was time to find a suitable jockey.

About the Book
We are a Champion! demonstrates the power of believing in one's self, the power in affirming and encouraging others, and the miracles that can happen when a team is united with a common purpose and goal.
She Who Makes Dust, a champion racehorse, has seriously injured her leg and believes she'll never run again. However, the team is not willing to let their friend give up --no matter what! The groomers, the stable help, her trainer, the veterinarian and The Owner begin giving her double and triple doses of the medicine necessary to restore her spirit.
Daily, they each affirm her by saying, “You are a champion every day and in every way. You know it, and everyone around you knows it. You can do this, and you KNOW you can. You CAN do this, and YOU know you can!”
As She Who Makes Dust begins to believe in herself again, so will the reader and the listener. By the end of the story, you'll be able to join in with the team as they snap their fingers and rap-sing:
We… are… a Champion
Every day and in e-ver-y way
We know it! We know it!
Everyone around us knows it
They know it!
We can do this and we KNOW we can
We can do this and WE know we can
We… are… a Champion

About the Author
At an early age, Tami Dempsey began collecting books and articles for the day when she would “help others.” Introverted and shy, she would literally croak when asked a question in class, earning herself the nickname Frog. But Tami had a dream.
Befriended by a college professor teaching psycho cybernetics, Tami was told she could be anything she wanted to be and do anything she wanted to do --IF she could just imagine it. Her Sunday school teacher explained it as “faith” --the ability to see it, feel it, and rejoice as though it already is! As a 12-year old misfit living in a fantasy world in order to escape her painful reality, Tami began daydreaming about singing “with power.” By the age of 14, she was moving audiences across the country with her song.
Today, Tami Dempsey is an energetic motivator, speaker and Vision Coach. Her abiding passion is to teach children (and adults) what her professor friend and Sunday school teacher taught her: “You can be anything you want to be, and do anything you want to do --if you'll just imagine it, feel the feelings of it, and then celebrate and give thanks as though it already is!”
