What does it take to succeed? It doesn’t happen overnight. It takes planning, confidence, execution, and commitment. Planning starts with a vision. Without a vision there can be no plan.
The best example I can think of that defines this introductory chapter is Tiger Woods. I recall watching the 2008 U. S. Open over five days in which Tiger Woods won the golf tournament competing on practically one leg. It was one of the most courageous performances in sports history and I was glad to be alive to witness it.
Tiger’s journey has been well documented as to how he became who he is. He exemplifies what it takes to succeed. It didn’t happen over night. His journey has been both long and difficult with all its ups and downs. But his determination to persevere is legendary.
In order to find your own level of success and happiness and to realize your vision-you must do what Tiger did. That is, you must have a plan, develop the confidence to execute that plan, execute that plan, and stay committed to working that plan until you succeed. . .

Steven Russell is a writer, artist, consultant, and entrepreneur. A graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma State University and MBA student at the University of Phoenix, Steve held senior management positions in accounting, finance, and marketing at a Fortune 500 company traveling all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico during a successful 30 year career. Steve is a unique spirit in that he holds the distinction of having successfully moonlighted in other industries while enjoying a full time career. His many accomplishments include: Founder of Chez Nous Records and the group After Five Jazz that has earned him recognition from his peers in the music industry. Founder of ColorFaux Walls, an accomplished faux painter creating his mark for high end clients on walls and ceilings on homes in the South. Founder of WebMSys where he developed a web based computer software application to help clients market themselves and brand their identity. Founder of SSI Consulting, applying his years of management experience as a business consultant for small to medium sized companies. Steve has an insatiable appetite for setting goals, planning, executing, and succeeding in any venture he pursues.
